To use ArcGIS Web Editor, your device and ArcGIS account must meet the requirements below.
ArcGIS Enterprise requirements
Web Editor requires a base ArcGIS Enterprise deployment.
Licensing
The administrator of your ArcGIS organization must grant you the required user type, role, and privileges to access Web Editor.
The required user types, roles, and privileges are as follows:
- Creator, Professional, or Professional Plus user type
- Data Editor, User, Publisher, or Administrator role, or a custom role with Edit privileges
The ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension is also required to edit a utility network, manage versions, or edit data using branch versioning. The Version Management privilege (included with User, Publisher, and Administrator roles) is also required to manage versions.

Data access
To collaborate in Web Editor, you can share a web map that includes editable feature layers. You can control data access through a combination of hosted feature layer editing settings and web map sharing properties.
The following users have access to edit feature layers:
- The data owner
- Members of the organization with the Administrator role
- Members of the organization with administrative privileges to update content
Users can edit feature layers in Web Editor when the following conditions are met:
- The web map and feature layers are shared with the appropriate group, your organization, or the public.
- The feature layers have editing enabled.
Only data owners and members of the organization with administrative privileges can update feature layer settings.
Note:
You cannot enable editing for a layer in Web Editor. To adjust the editing settings, use the item page for the feature layer.
Supported browsers
Web Editor supports the following browsers:
- Google Chrome version 122 and later
- Microsoft Edge version 122 and later
- Mozilla Firefox version 125 and later
- Mozilla Firefox version 115 (ESR)
- Safari version 16 and later
For best performance and full functionality, use the latest version of a browser listed above. Only WebGL2-enabled, 64-bit browsers are supported. The website uses the local storage capabilities (similar to cookies) of the browser. If this storage is disabled, the site will not function properly. Supported languages
The Web Editor website supports the same languages as the ArcGIS Enterprise portal.
Help documentation can be viewed in the following languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish.
Note:
Translated help documentation may not be available for two or more weeks after a software update.

Time zone
Web Editor uses the device time zone. You cannot set a custom time zone for date fields when creating or editing features.
System requirements
Web Editor requires a minimum screen width of 1024 pixels.
